Video app - TikTok’s alternative and competition

In short

We designed the UX and UI of the app created by the former star of Vine, Brendon McNerney. The product was at one point the most often downloaded app in its category in the USA.

The Challenges

  • designing an app more convenient than TikTok
  • …and more supportive for the creators (with monetizing option included);
  • creating animations and microinteractions to make the app more fun for the user.

Emphasis on exploring new content and creators

We made sure the content exploration process is pleasant and fun for the user. Several highlighting sections, prompting top creators and trends etc. made the app both creator- and user-friendly.

Friendly first impression

We designed an interactive onboarding system and feature discovery that reacts to the user’s actions in real time and teaches them how to use the app.

Thought-through system of content monetization

We built a unique content creator’s support system, based on a virtual currency – drop. We designed donating / drops sending to be fast, intuitive, and satisfying.
